Check-In

All participants are required to check in for the event between 1:00 PM and 9:00 PM on Friday, October 08, 2021. 

  • No bikes will be allowed to enter the pit lane area after 9:00 PM and there is no race day check in allowed unless approved by race management.
  • Participants will pass through a gate check in lane outside the track to receive an all access credential.  You will need a ID to confirm identity and receive the credential. This credential is available to all registered participants and will allow you to drive onto the track and into the infield parking area. 
  • All individuals will need a credential to gain access to infield area either as a infield pass or all access pass.  Non racing individuals can pre purchase a infield pass or a all access pass online or with cash at time of entry. 
  • After you park on the infield you will walk over to the paddock area to find athlete check-in. During check in you will receive your event t-shirt, assigned pit stall, bike / helmet number and timing chip. Team members and relay teams are encouraged to check in together to simplify the process.
  • Once you have received your check-in package you are able to set-up your pit stall and rack your bike. 
  • There will be a section of the track dedicated to test your bike set-up.
  • All bikes must be racked by 9:00 PM and all participants must exit the track by 10:00 PM, overnight parking is permitted. 

Race Day

Gates will open at 4:30 AM and close at 6:30 AM. All vehicles must be parked on the infield by 6:30 AM.  No vehicles other than emergency vehicles will be allowed on the track between 6:30 AM and 7:30 PM.

  • Pit Lanes open at 5:00 AM - athletes are allowed to work on the bike and ride in the dedicated warm up lanes only.
  • Race management will call for all riders to line up starting at 6:45 AM.
  • All participants will line up for a parade lap at 7:00 AM. The first lap is a parade lap and is not timed. All athletes are required to participate in the parade lap and will line up according to your assigned bike numbers. You will maintain position while on the parade lap, no passing is allowed.
  • The race will officially start with a rolling green flag on lap two. The pace vehicle and all non starting relay team members will exit the track prior to crossing the line. Passing is only allowed after crossing the start line to take the green flag.
  • The 12 hour race time will officially begin when participants cross the start line on lap two. 
  • Participants who have passed the start line once the race clock has reached 12 hours will be allowed to complete the lap. Once the race is official and you have crossed the timing line you must exit the track.

Rules

  • Athletes must start and finish event on the same bike they started with.
  • No time trial bikes allowed.
  • Drafting is allowed.
  • Athletes are allowed to work on bikes while in pit lane.
  • Time in pit lane is added to the current lap you are on when you enter the pit lane.
  • NON Relay teams can decide how many athletes to have on the track at a time. 
  • Non Relay team laps and times are always combined. 
  • Relay teams can only have 1 (2 person relay) or 2 (4 persons relay) cyclist on the track at a time.  Timing chip(s) are transferred between riders while in pit lane.
  • Relay team laps are combined while times are based on the individual(s) holding timing chip.
  • Relay team laps and times are always combined. 
  • Any athlete who receives medical assistance during the event will be evaluated by medical staff to determine if the athlete is able to continue.
  • Medical staff and race officials reserve the right to pull any athlete from the track at any time if the athlete is at risk of hurting themselves or other athletes by staying out on the track. 

Flags

Once the race starts the track will wave a green flag to indicate the race is active. The race will remain active under green flag unless the following flags are waved for any reason.

  • Yellow Flag - the first lap is a parade lap and will be made under yellow flag status. 
  • Yellow Flag - Caution on the track, athletes should slow down and drop to the bottom of the track to remain in a single file line without passing. Athletes are allowed to enter pit lane but not allowed to leave pit lane during yellow flag status.  Laps will continue to be counted.
  • Red Flag - Emergency on the track medical or weather related, athletes must enter pit lane, no laps will be counted while under red flag status. 
  • Black Flag - Black flags are athlete specific and will be waved / pointed to individual athletes. during the event for rule violations. Should a athlete receive a black flag they must enter the pit lane and report to the penalty tent to assess violation.
